KRITI RAWAL
ECHOING DRIPS
University Graduation Project
Echoing Drips is my University Graduation Project which was showcased at the Amazon Fashion Week 2018.
It's a bridge between Art and Fashion.
The concept has been developed by taking inspiration from the artist Jackson Pollock for his technique of Drip Painting and relating it to a woman as a being of many layers.
Rape is a crime not only against the body of an individual but also against one’s mind, psyche and reputation. In most cases, the rapists is questioned only on being caught but the raped is questioned at every stage by every strata of the society.
“DON’T GET RAPED” is a propogated thought. The rapists should be interrogated about the details of the incident and not the raped.
Taking drip painting as the technique and rape as the concept, I came up with the idea of showcasing a bold and out speaking collection of garments.
